May 14, 2003 (New York, NY) ‹ Abstract Edge, an interactive marketing firm, announced today that they have built a completely new membership site for the US Youth Soccer Organization, a nationwide group whose members total over three million youth soccer participants. The site, www.thesportszone.org will launch June 1.

Abstract Edge was retained by Octagon, US Youth Soccer's marketing firm to design and develop the site, which will showcase features and functionalities that include 3D games, contests, Q&A, sponsor deals and promotions and useful game information.

"We are confident that our use of the fundamental principles of activism and cause-based marketing will be highly effective in expanding the Youth Soccer brand among its enthusiastic core members," said Douglas Stone, CEO of Abstract Edge. "In turn, we expect the site to attract relevant sponsors, as well as expand their membership base."

The website, initiated by Octagon, will survey the online membership program among a sample size of 50,000 existing members from four regions in the United States. The members will have access to the site via a unique pin number that will be distributed to them offline at the time of registration. The goal of the exclusive membership site is to increase the awareness and visibility of the US Youth Soccer brand among existing members, to promote sponsor involvement and awareness and to build a more robust member database.

The sample survey will span a six-month period at which time Abstract Edge and Octagon will consider more robust site features, as well as expansion of the site's accessibility to all 3+ million players.
