		BrowserMedia Launches Website for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons BrowserMedia For Immediate Release BrowserMedia Launches Website for the American Society of Plastic Surgeons Washington, DC, Tuesday, July 22 2003, BrowserMedia (www.browsermedia.com) a Bethesda, MD - based web and software development company, announced today the launch of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons website (www.plasticsurgery.org). Based in Chicago, IL, the ASPS is the world's largest and most influential plastic surgery association, representing more than 5000 member surgeons. The ASPS approached BrowserMedia with the primary goal of using the Web to increase referrals to their member surgeons. To achieve this goal, BrowserMedia technology consultants performed a comprehensive Website evaluation and recommended a technical course of action that would directly benefit their members. BrowserMedia consultants developed and posted a user survey on the ASPS site and studied web logs to gauge user satisfaction. Consultants spent weeks poring over data, researching competitor websites, and evaluating online marketing initiatives. Impressed with BrowserMedia's evaluation, the ASPS subsequently hired the company to work side-by-side with their in-house development team to implement a comprehensive, functional solution. BrowserMedia designed and developed the ASPS website from the ground up, employing a sophisticated architecture that logically organizes thousands of pages of content. BrowserMedia developed a "Find a Surgeon" search engine to connect prospective customers with qualified ASPS member surgeons. A Java photo gallery application was created that enables surgeons to upload "before & after" pictures and procedure descriptions through a formatted page. With this system, the ASPS can also create "master" galleries for end-users who wish to quickly peruse the work of ASPS member surgeons. In addition, BrowserMedia successfully integrated the Java functionality with CommonSpot, a Cold Fusion content management system.
