Go West, with offices in Vancouver, Calgary and Toronto, is one of Canada's most respected and trusted names in RV-ing. With almost 30 years in business, and a loyal client base in both North America and Europe, Go West considered the re brand to be a vital part of its new positioning. Go West commissioned Glasfurd & Walker to evolve the brand in line with its expanding offer to customers and the more ‘lifestyle’ focused adjustment to its positioning. The identity reflects a more contemporary and modern outlook, whilst maintaining a visual connection to its past. As Creative Director Phoebe Glasfurd explains, "given Go West's previous logo mark was in place for almost 27 years, we knew it was vital to keep a link to their history to ensure retention of its customer base, especially in the European market. The opportunity to reflect a come contemporary personality came hand in hand with the strategic positioning of the company as full service RV company." The project, which started in July 2007, covered all major areas of Go West's brand and customer touch points. From logo usage and style guide, to wholesale and rental brochures to stationery, signage and presentation kits. The largest, and most intensive aspect beyond the brand creation, was the full redesign of the Go West website. Working closely with Go West's project manager Florian Gabriel and Sage Internet, Glasfurd & Walker redesigned the site in line with the new brand and analyzed the way the site was structured. "The old Go West site had alot of information on it, but it was not designed in such a way as to be easily accessible and was not presented in the most logical way," adds producer, Aren Fieldwalker. The site was streamlined to make it easier to navigate, and content was consolidated in such a way as to allow new and returning customers to find what they wanted faster. Irene Sturzenegger, General Manger and President of Go West RV Centre sums up the project from her point of view,"...they (Glasfurd & Walker) are an amazing designer team. Excellent and very quick, competent and knowledgeable, hiring them actually saved us lots of money. " Further applications to the brand roll out will follow in the coming months and into the new year. These include additional outdoor and installation work, a potential micro site focused on lifestyle and community for Go West customers, and ongoing strategy and creative for advertising and marketing.
