Bigbad Unveils Three Comprehensive New Web Sites For Higher Education Clients
Web Site Redesigns for Salem State College, Shenandoah University and The University of Tulsa Maximize Usability and Interaction
BOSTON-July 29, 2009-BigBad, Inc. (www.bigbad.com), a leading national interactive agency, continues to pioneer new frontiers in higher education Web communications with the launch of dynamic new sites for Salem State College (www.salemstate.edu), Shenandoah University (www.su.edu) and The University of Tulsa (www.utulsa.edu).
"BigBad brings its extensive knowledgebase about what actually works on the Web to achieve admissions, advancement and academic reputation outcomes into every higher education engagement we conduct," said President & CEO Ty Glasgow, who will present a session on Web outcomes at the upcoming American Marketing Association's Annual Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education taking place Nov 15 - 18, 2009. "We're proud to have collaborated with the talented teams at Salem State College, Shenandoah University and The University of Tulsa on their Web site redesigns and believe that the powerful results speak for themselves."
All three of the recently launched Web sites had critical areas to address for project success at the most fundamental level, including information architecture, visual design, usability and content management issues. Each engagement presented a unique set of challenges for BigBad in realizing the institution's differentiating identity and core messaging effectively. BigBad brought its strategic approach to the projects, working to eliminate typical administrative silos and replacing them with a framework that emphasizes user-centered information architecture while presenting a singular, cohesive brand experience.
"The success of our work relies on our ability to gain a true understanding of the relationship between an institution's strategic goals and the needs of its target audiences," said Chief Creative Officer Jeff Johnson. "Higher education Web sites all have a wide range of users, and to ensure success, the site must meet all of their needs."
BigBad also recommended and implemented content management systems (CMS) for each institution. The University of Tulsa selected Sitecore CMS, while both Shenandoah University and Salem State College leveraged RedDot CMS for their projects. Client and user feedback for each site has been positive from the outset.
Web site redesign projects for clients in higher education currently underway at BigBad include: Babson College, College of Wooster, Long Island University, Lasell College, LIM College, Molloy College, Miami University and University of Redlands.
